Owners Tom and Laurie Moses opened Paradise Cafe at Parker Dam, Arizona in 1982, but throughout these years they have always wanted to build another restaurant up the road in Lake Havasu...due mostly to the prodding of their Havasu Clientele. They bought the property where CHA-BONES now sits back in 2000 but it has only been since their boys, Cameron and Chasen, have gone off to College, that they have found the time to make this dream a reality.

At first, the Moses family was to build yet another Paradise Cafe...but had second thoughts and always felt that something was missing from the Havasu restaurant scene. They felt they could identify a niche that needed to be filled...and fill it they did. With Laurie's incredible imagination and Tom's determination...CHA-BONES was born. The name comes from their youngest son...CHASE who was nicknamed Cha-Bones by his friends. The name just seemed to fit with the restaurant's menu of hand-cut "bone-in" steaks, ribs and chops that the restaurant serves.

Many of the architectural elements were done by the Moses family themselves, like the 40 ft bar made of hand poured concrete and the giant light spheres made of banana paper that hangs in the Dining Room. Much of the artwork was painted by Laurie herself, but the 5 incredible water sculptures were done by sculpter Gary Slater of Tempe, AZ.

Cha-Bones is a restaurant that prides itself on its use of only the freshest and finest ingredients which includes Certified Angus Beef, Fresh Fish & Seafood brought in daily, and its “from scratch” method of food preparation. As with everything we do, this restaurant was put together with a lot of love and care ...and we hope you enjoy it as much as we've enjoyed bringing it to you.
